Fall Leaves

Kyleigh really enjoyed playing in the leaves at Grandma's office today. I think she would have spent the entire afternoon out there if I would have let her!!

Happy Halloween

Pumpkin family at the bank

This year we decided not to go Trick or Treating, especially since we don't exactly live in a neighborhood and Kyleigh really could care less about candy or strangers. We did get Kyleigh dressed up in her bumblebee outfit and we went on our own hayride to visit Great Granny and Uncle Jerry. This was Kyleigh (and Justin's) first hayride. Justin was laughing because it's not everywhere that you can go on a hayride (being pulled by a tractor) on an actual road. One more of the many benefits of living in the South!! I don't have a great picture of Kyleigh in her costume because it got dark and Kyleigh wasn't in the best mood, but hopefully I'll get some here in the next few days.

Utah- part 5

Thurs we spent most of the day at Temple Square touring all the buildings. We also got to go to an organ recital at the Tabernacle. Right before the recital we were sitting outside waiting to go in and I hear someone call my name, which isn't all that unusual Jessica is a pretty common name, but this was a voice that I recognized! Mike and Jen Allred, more friends from Cincinnati, were there for Jen's brother's wedding. I never expected to run into anyone that I knew sitting on Temple Square is Salt Lake City!!

Thurs night Brandon came to get us again to show us around some more. We went to the Draper Temple and the Mount Timpanogos Temple. I think my favorite temple that we saw was the Mount Timpanogos because it is just in a beautiful valley with huge mountains behind it. Although, the Salt Lake Temple is right up there too on my list. After our drive we went back to Brandon's house to see his family again before we left. Uncle Brandon introduced Kyleigh to world of Hershey's kisses. Kyleigh cried when we had to leave Brandon's mom and sister!

Mount Timpanogos Temple

Fri we toured Welfare Square. I really enjoyed this tour because it is really nice to see all the wonderful things that our church does for people locally and around the world! We also drove to see the Oquirrh Mountain Temple.

Fri night, Eric and Emily came to pick us up and we went to Gardener Village to walk around for a little while while we were waiting on Brandon for dinner which was really fun because everything was decorated for Halloween and lots of people were dressed up like witches. Kyleigh really didn't care about the witches very much, she preferred to play with the pumpkins on the ground.

We went to the Mayan for dinner where they have a dive show, which was pretty cool. After dinner it was time to say goodbyes, which I HATE!!! I'm a crier for those of you who don't know that already, so I was pretty much a wreak the rest of the night (and the entire next day). I hate how vacations always seem to go to fast!

Sat we flew home. Kyleigh and I were really glad to see Justin again. 10 days is quite a long time to be away.

We had such a wonderful trip! I really enjoyed seeing my boys again and meeting their families for the first time. Kyleigh really appreciated all the extra attention she got too!! I am so glad that I could be there for Eric and Emily's wedding. Huge thanks to the Nance and Moore families for letting us stay with them. It's so nice feeling right "at home" when home is so far away! We really appreciate Brandon for showing us around too. Utah really is a beautiful state. Much different than what I'm used to here in Alabama!

Utah- part 4 Park City

Tues. we went to Park City. Brandon got us the hook up at Stein Eriksen Lodge. The lodge was really nice!! We were definitely spoiled the days we were there. Tues afternoon, Brandon drove up to Park City to show us around. We drove all up in the mountains. It was beautiful!! It actually started snowing on us at one point.

Unfortunately, it also started raining, so we didn't have the best views but it was better than nothing.

Wed. we had lunch and walked around Main St with Uncle Eric and Aunt Emily. They were on their honeymoon in Park City and were nice enough to let us crash the last few hours of their honeymoon. Aunt Emily is now one of Kyleigh's new favorite people. Kyleigh pretty much didn't leave her side the entire time we were walking around. Kyleigh even cried when we dropped them back off at their car because she didn't want them to leave. We pretty much spent the rest of the day shopping at the outlet stores.

Utah- part 3

I know that some of you probably don't care to read about my entire trip, so I won't be offended if you skip over it.

Saturday was Eric and Emily's wedding.

Salt Lake Temple

Mamaw Teeta was nice enough to keep Kyleigh so I could go to their sealing at Salt Lake Temple. I was so grateful to be included with their close family and friends. I, of course, cried like a baby. After the sealing, we went over to do a quick tour of the Conference Center before the luncheon at the Lion House.

Kyleigh got cut out of this pic because she was asleep.

We went to the reception later that night, then drove by the Bountiful Temple afterward. As you can see from the picture I wasn't exactly prepared for this to be the coldest day during our entire trip!

Congrats to Uncle Eric and Aunt Emily. Thanks for letting us be part of your day!

Sunday, we were exhausted so we spent most of the day just relaxing at Kevin's (one of Mamaw Teeta's missionaries) house with his family. After dinner we decided to hike up Ensign Peak. I didn't realize how out of shape I was until I started walking. I'm blaming it on the being pregnant!!

HUGE thanks to Kevin for wearing Kyleigh in the backpack the whole way up!! I really would have been tired had I carried her the whole way! We made it to the top just in time for the sunset.

Monday, we drove up to Fruit Heights to visit the Glutz family who used to be in our ward in Cincinnati. We were so glad to be able to see them and meet their newest addition Lexi. After our visit we went to see the Ogden Temple, then of course we decided that we needed Krispy Kreme before going back to Kevin's house.

Kyleigh was so happy to be out of her carseat for a little while, so we let her play for a while.

We also drove over to see the Jordan River Temple.

Monday night, Kyleigh and I went to dinner with Uncle Brandon and his family. We went to Ruth's Diner and it was really good! Kyleigh really took to Brandon's mom, Lisa, and sister, Kiley. I didn't have to do anything with Kyleigh during dinner it was great!! Lisa fed her and Kiley entertained her after dinner. They also taught Kyleigh a new song "Round and Round the Garden" which Kyleigh LOVES!! I still have to do it a few times every day.

Utah- part 2 Bowling

Our main reason for making the trip to Utah when we did was because Eric was getting married. Friday night, we went bowling with everyone from their wedding party. This was Kyleigh's first experience bowling and she did awesome. Uncle Eric decided he would be Kyleigh's official helper. I think Kyleigh did a better job bowling than Eric was doing by himself!! There were 8 people bowling on our lane and for 1 entire round Kyleigh bowled for everyone. She loved it!!! I think Uncle Eric was exhausted after this round!!

video

We also got to see Brandon (another one of my missionaries). As you can see Kyleigh was extremely thirsty after all that bowling.

As I have probably mentioned before, Kyleigh usually takes to women much quicker than men, but Uncle Eric and Uncle Brandon quickly figured out that if you use bribery like bowling or water she would actually come to them willingly.

Trip to Utah- part 1

Kyleigh and I went to Utah to visit friends last week. We did and saw so much that I decided to do the blog about our trip in different sections, so this is part 1. Kyleigh and I left Oct 8th (Thurs) bright and early. (We had to get up at 4:30am to get to the airport on time.) I am so thankful that Kyleigh is such a good traveller!! The first leg of our flight was from Huntsville to Cincinnati and I actually got lucky enough to have an empty seat next to me, so Kyleigh didn't have to sit in my lap the whole time. Shortly after take off, Kyleigh fell asleep eating Cheerios and curling up with Minnie.

We landed in Cincinnati and met up with Mamaw Teeta who was making the trip with us. Unfortunately this flight was packed so Kyleigh had to sit in my lap for the 4 hr flight. She was good though. Took another nap.

We got a wonderful surprise at the airport. Eric (one of my missionaries) met us there with his fiance, Emily. We were planning on just meeting up with them later because we had our own rental car, but they were thoughtful enough to surprise us. I was so excited to see Eric again and meet Emily!! It was also nice to have someone help with the luggage. It isn't the easiest thing to do to drive a stroller, carry a huge diaper bag, and pull 2 suitcases, so thanks for the help!!

After lunch, we made our way to Tremonton where Eric's family lives. They were nice enough to take us in for a few nights. We really enjoyed staying with them. Even though we just meet, I feel like I've known them forever. You always wonder how it is going to be when you are staying in someone's home that you have never met, but we couldn't have asked for a better situation. It was so nice waking up to a hot breakfast every morning!! I'm used to just cereal. Big thank you to David and Chris for making us feel right at home and for giving us directions to places we wanted to visit so we didn't get lost!!

Friday, we drove up to Logan to do some shopping and see the temple there. It was so nice being able to go into the church ditribution stores and Deseret Book!!
