Let it Snow

A few weeks ago we woke up to snow. It is extremely rare to get snow here, especially this early, but we had probably 1/2 in on the ground. Justin and my Dad were crazy enough to get out at 4:20am in the snow to go hunting. Kyleigh and I stayed in our nice cozy beds until 9am that morning ;-) Unfortunately, all of it was melted by about 1pm. Maybe we will get more snow later in the season.

Thanksgiving

I have been a horrible picture taker this month. We had family come to visit twice and I didn't take any pictures!

The first family trip Justin's Mom (Becky), Stepdad (Bob), youngest brother (Kyle), and his fiance (Erin) came to visit for a long weekend. We were pretty lazy while they were here. We spent most of the weekend just chilling out at our house.

The week after Justin's Dad (Russ) and Stepmom/my Godmother (Teresa)came to spent 9 days with us. We spend most of that trip preparing for Thanksgiving. The boys went hunting a few times while they were here and Justin got his first deer (a 7 pt buck). We were so excited for him!! The girls went Black Friday shopping as usual. We left home at 3:30 and shopped for only 12 hours this year. Kyleigh did great!! I'm really going to be in trouble in a few years though because we bought most of Kyleigh's Christmas while we were shopping this year and I won't be able to do that much longer since she always goes with us.

Russ and Teresa did a much better job of taking pictures than did so I've decided to add the links to our blog from theirs for those of you who are interested in seeing pictures. There are also some really cute videos of Kyleigh in the links below.

Baby Gobble #2

I'm sure that most of you know by now that we are having another baby. Baby Gobble #2 will be joining the family mid-May 2010. We are very excited about the new addition. This ultrasound picture is quite a few weeks old now but I thought I would post it anyway. This pregnancy is going really well. Much different from Kyleigh's though. Fortunately, I didn't have morning sickness. I was just really tired and didn't feel just wonderful the first trimester. I am currently in my 16th week. In about 1 1/2 weeks we will be having another ultrasound and hopefully we will find out if baby is a boy or a girl. I am thinking boy just because the pregnancies are so different. Justin is praying for a healthy baby first, but a boy is running a close second!! Most of you also know that I have a blood disorder that requires me to have blood thinning injections twice a day every day. These are going as well as can be expected. I'm really starting to look like a drug addict though from all the injection bruising! Oh well, it's a small price to pay for a healthy baby.

I am also in need of some help. We already have a girl's name picked out, but we are having a really difficult time coming up with boys' names that we both agree on. We had Kyleigh's name picked out before she was even born so I'm feeling a little behind on this baby's name if it happens to be a boy. We don't want anything too common and I typically don't like names that have nicknames commonly associated with them (ex- Benjamin and Ben, Nicholas and Nick, etc.) I would greatly appreciate any suggestions that you might have to offer!! So far the names that have made our list are: Mason and Camden. The middle name will be William. Thanks is advance for any ideas!

Fall Leaves

Kyleigh really enjoyed playing in the leaves at Grandma's office today. I think she would have spent the entire afternoon out there if I would have let her!!

Happy Halloween

Pumpkin family at the bank

This year we decided not to go Trick or Treating, especially since we don't exactly live in a neighborhood and Kyleigh really could care less about candy or strangers. We did get Kyleigh dressed up in her bumblebee outfit and we went on our own hayride to visit Great Granny and Uncle Jerry. This was Kyleigh (and Justin's) first hayride. Justin was laughing because it's not everywhere that you can go on a hayride (being pulled by a tractor) on an actual road. One more of the many benefits of living in the South!! I don't have a great picture of Kyleigh in her costume because it got dark and Kyleigh wasn't in the best mood, but hopefully I'll get some here in the next few days.

Utah- part 5

Thurs we spent most of the day at Temple Square touring all the buildings. We also got to go to an organ recital at the Tabernacle. Right before the recital we were sitting outside waiting to go in and I hear someone call my name, which isn't all that unusual Jessica is a pretty common name, but this was a voice that I recognized! Mike and Jen Allred, more friends from Cincinnati, were there for Jen's brother's wedding. I never expected to run into anyone that I knew sitting on Temple Square is Salt Lake City!!

Thurs night Brandon came to get us again to show us around some more. We went to the Draper Temple and the Mount Timpanogos Temple. I think my favorite temple that we saw was the Mount Timpanogos because it is just in a beautiful valley with huge mountains behind it. Although, the Salt Lake Temple is right up there too on my list. After our drive we went back to Brandon's house to see his family again before we left. Uncle Brandon introduced Kyleigh to world of Hershey's kisses. Kyleigh cried when we had to leave Brandon's mom and sister!

Fri we toured Welfare Square. I really enjoyed this tour because it is really nice to see all the wonderful things that our church does for people locally and around the world! We also drove to see the Oquirrh Mountain Temple.

Fri night, Eric and Emily came to pick us up and we went to Gardener Village to walk around for a little while while we were waiting on Brandon for dinner which was really fun because everything was decorated for Halloween and lots of people were dressed up like witches. Kyleigh really didn't care about the witches very much, she preferred to play with the pumpkins on the ground.

We went to the Mayan for dinner where they have a dive show, which was pretty cool. After dinner it was time to say goodbyes, which I HATE!!! I'm a crier for those of you who don't know that already, so I was pretty much a wreak the rest of the night (and the entire next day). I hate how vacations always seem to go to fast!

Sat we flew home. Kyleigh and I were really glad to see Justin again. 10 days is quite a long time to be away.

We had such a wonderful trip! I really enjoyed seeing my boys again and meeting their families for the first time. Kyleigh really appreciated all the extra attention she got too!! I am so glad that I could be there for Eric and Emily's wedding. Huge thanks to the Nance and Moore families for letting us stay with them. It's so nice feeling right "at home" when home is so far away! We really appreciate Brandon for showing us around too. Utah really is a beautiful state. Much different than what I'm used to here in Alabama!

Utah- part 4 Park City

Tues. we went to Park City. Brandon got us the hook up at Stein Eriksen Lodge. The lodge was really nice!! We were definitely spoiled the days we were there. Tues afternoon, Brandon drove up to Park City to show us around. We drove all up in the mountains. It was beautiful!! It actually started snowing on us at one point.

Unfortunately, it also started raining, so we didn't have the best views but it was better than nothing.

Wed. we had lunch and walked around Main St with Uncle Eric and Aunt Emily. They were on their honeymoon in Park City and were nice enough to let us crash the last few hours of their honeymoon. Aunt Emily is now one of Kyleigh's new favorite people. Kyleigh pretty much didn't leave her side the entire time we were walking around. Kyleigh even cried when we dropped them back off at their car because she didn't want them to leave. We pretty much spent the rest of the day shopping at the outlet stores.
